Fuck Me! I'm All Out Of Enemies.

Didn't think it'd be that difficult to draw Corey Taylor with this mask. In comparison to his old one, it seemed much simpler. Guess that's what happens when you underestimate something/one, they kick your ass.

A Match Into Water

I kiss the scars on her skin
I still think you're beautiful
And I don't ever want to lose my best friend
-Pierce The Veil, A Match Into Water

Some random PTV fan asked me on instagram to sketch something with these lyrics. I usually never draw what people ask me to because they ask for specific things and I think you have to be inspired to draw/make anything. But I love drawing quotes and lyrics and her request was very open so I sketched my interpretation of the song. Hope she likes it and other PTV fans who like or relate to the song enjoy it as well. ;)...

King For A Day

The thing I think I love will surely bring me pain.
-Pierce The Veil, King For A Day

A messy sketch. I needed a new idea for a painting and I really like these lyrics. It didn't really come out the way I wanted, but am sharing it anyways. ;)...

Ghost In The Mirror.

Ghost in the mirror.
Just look beyond, the balanced reflection.

So tell me dear, can your heart still break
If it's already stopped beating?

Never take your pulse for granted again,
she doesn't know the kiss of death.
Black is black and love is, love is death.
Black cats, Black hearts, the wicked never rest.
I curse the day I let you in.

Everyday is a funeral.
I'm not afraid of being alone, I'm just afraid of being vulnerable.

Ghost in the mirror, I curse the day that I let you in.

This is horror
This is sin
We are evil
We are death
-Motionless In White, Ghost In The Mirror

Check out an old, live performance of this song here(I love the God Free shirt Chris is wearing by the way):

Also attaching a charcoal drawing I did of Chris Motionless. He's such a cool subject to draw, so many emotions and dark aesthetic. The different gradients of black from the charcoal made the portrait more beautiful and dramatic, yet still subtle.

Battle Axe.

"I want to sleep if you are awake
Still making believe that you aren't at all crazy." -Deftones, Battle Axe

Here's some pictures of the progression of the canvas painting I did of the deftones album. You can get a small idea of what I did.

Step 1: make a small scale sketch
Step 2: sketch out proportions on canvas
Step 3: outline/fill in black areas
Step 4: add color
Step 5: donezo! Share art with the world! Hallelujah holla back!

Gently.

One of the best images of life; the tornado of confetti forming around Corey Taylor during the song Gently. Reminiscing about the moments I had watching Slipknot at Mayhem Fest. Wish I could relive it!

Check out the live performance of Gently at The Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA(the venue I attended) here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTLBxYs7J5o&feature=youtube_gdata_player

*sighs* I need more mayhem in my life.

I will make you HURT.

I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real
The needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything

What have I become?
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know
Goes away in the end
You could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt

I wear this crown of shit
Upon my liar's chair
Full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
Beneath the stains of time
The feelings disappear
You are someone else
I am still right here

What have I become?
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know
Goes away in the end

You could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt
If I could start again
A million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way

Took a break from reading and painting to watch #NIN vids. Gives me chills every time. Love Love Love. My interpretation of the song is that it's about pain, consequences, regret, and self-loathing. Whatever this person has done, he's driven his friends away from the consequences. He tries to bury or redirect his regrets or emotional pain through inflicting physical pain. It doesn't work so he is forced with the realization of his pain, consequences, and regret. The mention of the needle tearing a hole sounds like drug abuse, since some people do use drugs to mask pain. Drug abuse will also drive your friends and loved ones away(speaking from personal experience because my ex-boyfriend was a drug addict). But I don't really know if the song refers to any drug abuse. This is one of my favorite or perhaps favorite songs from NIN.

Gone With The Sin.

I'm in a weird mood. Therefore I listen to HIM. Makes me feel half dead, yet half alive. <3

This live performance of Gone With The Sin is one of my favorite videos. Check it out!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvUMbxilzkE&feature=youtube_gdata_player

I don't own this photo. Found it off google. I think the heartagram is one of the coolest symbols ever invented. The heartagram was created by HIM's vocalist, Ville Valo. He was doodling and came up with that beautiful symbol that has become well known and universal. There's a lot of cool fan artwork done with the heartagram as well.

Yayyyy for HIM and love metal ;)...

Of Mice & Men.

"The best laid schemes of mice and men
Go often awry,
And leave us nothing but grief and pain,
For promised joy!"
-Robert Burns, To A Mouse

While everybody is on the 50 Shades Of Grey hype, I've decided to read a book where my favorite band, Of Mice & Men, got their name based on the themes. The themes include having set plans being ruined and chasing the American Dream.

The book is also based on a poem, To A Mouse, by Robert Burns which I've quoted one version of a piece of the poem(in standard English) above. I decided to include this quote because Jaxin Hall(former bassist) mentions it in an old interview. Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqOg96SSM9o&feature=youtube_gdata_player

All Hope Is Gone.

I decided to do a sketch of Slipknot's drummer Joey Jordison. It is dedicated to my nephew because after Mayhem Fest, he asked me how was it and if I recorded anything. I showed him a video of Slipknot and he asked "who's that guy with the horns on the poster?" Lmao I told him it was Satan. Then I asked him if he wanted to go to a concert and he replied "uhmm yeah but not this one, to see a different band." I think I scared him ha!

Well I just saw this portrait of Joey Jordison online and thought it was rad so I decided to sketch it. First time drawing a portrait of someone wearing a mask. Still a lot of emotions and expressions to convey!

Here's a tribute video I found of Slipknot and their song All Hope Is Gone. There is video footage, pictures, and some quirky comments. Pretty cool to see all the different mask each member wears.

Enjoy!

The Drug In Me Is You.

Just posting a little, old sketch I did. The tattoo "Bang Bang" is inspired by Ronnie Radke(from Falling In Reverse) because he actually has it. I also put a Native American headdress on the skull since Ronnie has some Native American roots. The colors kind of made the skull look rasta though ha!

I love Ronnie so here is my little homage to him!

If you're 555, then I'm 666.

Finally went to my first Rockstar Energy Mayhem Fest and it was insane! ;)

Some bands that I saw and enjoyed we're Upon A Burning Body, White Chapel, Asking Alexandria, and The Devil Wears Prada. The best performances were from Slayer and Slipknot!

I didn't really like some of the crowds at the smaller stages, some people just stood there(boring...), but maybe it was because they didn't know the other bands since I assume a lot of people just came to see Slayer or Slipknot. However, when they opened the pavilion with the main stage it was insane! Super large crowd, supposedly the biggest crowd they've ever had in Mayhem history. I was in the front center of the lawn and I was getting pushed into the rope barricades.

Highlights of the night:

The mayhem during Slayer's whole set and the insane guy next to me pretending to play air guitar and yelling "hail Satan" the whole time.

When Corey Taylor from Slipknot said you've heard the legends and myths and told everyone to get the fuck down. I had no idea what he was talking about. Then he told everyone to jump at his signal. So fucking dope!

When The Devil Wears Prada was doing a signing and I got a semi-close view of Mike Hranica's sexy self, but then some big girl came and ruined my view.

And right when I came into the venue this ginger head/beard Johnny Craig look alike totally shoulders me in the face. He looks back at me with a confused face, I laugh, he laughs. He then says "sorrrryyyyy, I'm drunk."

Ahhhh how I love Mayhem ;)....

I'm posting some pics of the crowd at Slayer and Slipknot. Some I found off instagram, enjoy ;)...

also am attaching a vid I found of YouTube of Slipknot performing heretic anthem ;). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqFPUbm4Xgs&feature=youtube_gdata_player
